Franz is the album by the French string quartet Quatuor Zaïde, released in 2025 under NoMadMusic. This album centers on Schubert’s string quartet masterpieces, featuring the complete String Quartet No. 14 in D minor, D. 810 “Death and the Maiden” across all four movements, along with Eric Mouret’s string quartet arrangements of the song Erlkönig, D. 328 and an excerpt from the opera Fierrabras, D. 796. With six compelling tracks, the album charts Schubert’s distinctive fusion of song-like lyricism and string quartet rigor—from the dramatic opening Allegro to the deep variations of the Andante and the fiery Presto finale. Recorded in Hi-Res 24-Bit/96 kHz, the album offers rich and detailed sound that fully captures the interplay of voices in the quartet.
