French cellist Ophélie Gaillard presents Venezia Sottosopra (Vivaldi, Finazzi), a 2026 Aparté release that turns Venice upside down. Blending Vivaldi concertos, opera arias, and Venetian balli with rare Finazzi material, the album places the cello at the centre of a vivid Baroque dialogue. Olivier Fourés’ arrangements and reconstructions for cello and ensemble illuminate familiar works such as RV 408 and RV 704 alongside Orlando excerpts and Venetian arias. From virtuosic brilliance to tender lyricism and dance rhythms, the programme captures the many colours of Venetian music. Released in 24-bit/96kHz high-resolution sound, it is a fresh, imaginative exploration of the Baroque repertoire.
