The album opens with Sham’s own contemporary composition, “Timeline,” serving as a prologue. The journey then continues through Charles Ives’ philosophical modernist piece “The Unanswered Question,” a glimpse into Debussy’s impressionist “Clair de lune,” and the introspective depth of Brahms’ late Intermezzo. The emotional intensity and technical complexity of Rachmaninoff’s revised “Sonata No. 2” represent late Romanticism’s peak.
