Album Introduction:
In 1685, three Baroque masters—Bach, Handel, and Scarlatti—were born, each leaving a rich legacy in keyboard music that has become a classic revisited by later generations. Dutch harpist Lavinia Meijer reinterprets their works in this new album “Unfolding Lines,” which serves both as a remake of her previous album “1685” and a retrospective look at that era. Bach’s “Prelude in C Major” (BWV846), originally composed for keyboard instruments, takes on clear melodic lines and transparent tones on the harp, showcasing the instrument’s unique musical expressiveness. The album features classic works by composers such as Bach and Scarlatti, infused with new vitality through harp performances, allowing listeners to experience familiar melodies in a fresh and captivating way.
