*Bamboo Grove* (Pentatone, 2026) presents four chamber works by Hong Kong-based composer Patrick Yim, performed in pristine 24-bit/192kHz audio. The album spans an unaccompanied violin soliloquy, a viola-percussion-piano trio, a clarinet quartet, and a four-movement suite inspired by traditional Chinese instruments—sheng, bianzhong bells, xiao, and qin. Yim fuses spectral harmonics, microtonal textures, and rhythmic vitality to create a sonic landscape where bamboo shadows dance with contemporary Western idioms. A luminous meeting of East and West, captured with exceptional engineering clarity.
